Mary T. Sachs Breast Center
Comfort, convenience and sophisticated technology make Abington – Jefferson Health’s Mary T. Sachs Breast Center the breast imaging choice for thousands of women each year.
At the Breast Center, we use the latest advanced methods –including 3D (tomosynthesis) mammography with computer-aided detection (CAD) – to ensure you receive the most accurate screening or diagnosis. This state of the art mammogram provides better image quality than conventional digital technique and improves evaluation, especially for women with dense breasts.
In addition to digital mammography, our comprehensive breast services include:
- Breast ultrasound
- MRI of breast
- MRI-guided breast biopsy
- Stereotactic breast biopsy (guided by mammography)
- Ultrasound-guided breast biopsy
When abnormalities are found, they are often benign, or of no concern. Should a mammogram, ultrasound or MRI indicate the need for a breast biopsy, image-guided biopsy may be advised. These outpatient procedures use a tiny, single incision and local anesthetic to take tissue samples. Accuracy is similar to surgical biopsy, with no significant scarring.
The Mary T. Sachs Breast Center is designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology for achieving high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, and quality control. It also has been accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
Conveniently located at Abington Health Center – Willow Grove, the Breast Center has ample free parking, with easy access to the facility.
3D mammography is also available at Abington – Lansdale Hospital and Abington Health Center – Warminster, Abington Health Center – Blue Bell and Abington Hospital – Jefferson Health.
