Meet Our Team
Abington – Jefferson Health's childbirth instructors are dedicated to helping expecting parents prepare for the arrival of their baby and to providing support for parents of newborns. The childbirth education classes are taught by registered nurses certified in Childbirth Education and one certified Prenatal Yoga Instructor. Read below to learn more about each of our dedicated childbirth education team members.
Amy Goldberg, RN, Certified Childbirth Educator
Amy has been a registered nurse since 1990 and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 2009. Her background includes Critical Care, Community Health and Childbirth Education. She has been a teacher at Abington since 2001 following the birth of her first child and the establishment of Abington’s Childbirth Education program. Currently, she is the lead childbirth educator. She teaches Childbirth Classes, Breastfeeding, Infant Massage, co-facilitates Baby Basics with Our Pediatrician, Baby Steps and Baby Talk support groups and covers any other class as needed.
Mary Duffy, Master’s Education
From 1986 to 2008, Mary was a Motherwell Maternity health and fitness instructor at Chestnut Hill Hospital. The maternity wellness program at Chestnut Hill transitioned to Prenatal Yoga in 2001. Mary joined the Abington Childbirth Education Department in 2009 and presently teaches Prenatal Yoga and Moving with Mommy and Me. She also holds a Master’s degree in Dance Education from Temple University. Mary has been teaching yoga since 2001. She received her 200 hour teaching credential from Spanda Yoga in Princeton, New Jersey, and her 500 hour certification from the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Mary teaches Prenatal Yoga and Moving with Mommy and Me.
Kerri Finley, BSN, RN, Certified Childbirth Educator
Kerri is a mom of three and has been a registered nurse since 2007. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Upon her graduation, she worked in the Special Care Nursery at Abington Hospital. Currently, she works full time as a health service manager. Kerri has been teaching Childbirth Education classes since 2010. She truly loves teaching, which is easy to see when you take her class! She teaches a Labor and Childbirth series and is also the facilitator for Moms and Munchkins, an evening support group for moms and babies.
Krissy Puglia, BSN, RN, Certified Childbirth Educator
Krissy has been a registered nurse since 2003. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from La Salle University and is a certified childbirth educator. Upon graduation, she worked in the Special Care Nursery at Abington Hospital. Later she worked in Case Management for infertility services, becoming a supervisor for units overseeing both infertility and BRCA (breast cancer) screening. She had her first baby in February 2014 at Abington. Krissy teaches Childbirth Preparation, Caring for Baby and facilitates the maternity tours.
