In-home Personal Care
There are times when our loved ones want to maintain their independence and continue to live at home as they age. However, they may be unable to routinely care for themselves or perform chores. They could benefit from the assistance of a professional caregiver. Jefferson Health’s In-Home Personal Care offers daily or around-the-clock care for those who need a helping hand in their home.
Jefferson Health is dedicated to providing patients with quality care. Our professional caregivers provide a safe environment for those in need of assistance or companionship. All caregivers are carefully screened and trained to serve the diverse needs of our clients prior to hiring. Caregivers are supervised, bonded and insured, and are subject to state licensing inspections.
This service is made possible through a partnership with Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) Community Services, a voluntary non-profit home care company that has served thousands of clients for over 90 years. VNA Community Services program is a member of the National Home Care Association and has received the Gold Seal of Approval by the National Home Care Association.
Caregivers are flexible and understand that each client’s needs differ. No task is too large or too small and can include:
- Personal hygiene and grooming
- Medication reminders
- Meal preparation
- Light housekeeping
- Shopping and errands
- Transportation to appointments (using patient/family vehicle)
Services can be provided a few days each week, several hours daily or a caregiver can be hired to live in the home.
A nurse will visit each individual’s home to assess his or her needs and tailor a program that is right for them. Several caregivers will be recommended and the client and family will have the opportunity to meet and interview all candidates.
