Diagnosing Prostate Cancer
Asplundh Cancer Pavilion
Diagnostic testing with the latest technologies is vital for accurately identifying, staging and determining treatment for prostate cancer. Our team is highly skilled with the most up-to-date diagnostic and evaluation services.
We also provide consultations (second opinions) for patients originally diagnosed elsewhere.
Prostate Cancer Tests
Although you may have had a PSA blood test (to measure prostate-specific antigen), additional testing will assess your individual condition. In addition to blood tests and physical examination, tests may include: AMACR urine test, urine or prostate fluid test, CT scan, bone scan, chest x-ray and biopsy.
Prostate Evaluation Program
If you have a prostate nodule or elevated PSA level, our Prostate Evaluation Program (PEP) can help. Through this program, our experts in urology and radiation therapy evaluate you and discuss treatment options. The program is located at the Asplundh Cancer Pavilion.
