We offer the most advanced technology in the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer while under the care of a dedicated team. As each patient’s situation is unique, the latest testing and treatment options are available to personalize care. Providing the right treatment at the right time is our commitment and promise.
For the treatment of lung cancer, the Asplundh Cancer Pavilion offers the following:
NURSE NAVIGATOR – To make this difficult process as effortless as possible, our nurse navigator Suzanne Rush, RN, BSN, OCN will arrange all appointments and necessary tests. You may email Suzanne or call her at 215-481-4815.
RADIOLOGY – Advanced imaging and diagnostic testing will ensure a full understanding of the stage and type of cancer. Whether it is CT, PET, ultrasound, CT guided biopsy or radiofrequency ablation (RFA), all are available at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health.
PULMONARY MEDICINE – Our physician specialists in lung medicine are often the first line of testing and symptom management. Offering pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) and navigational bronchoscopy, these minimally invasive procedures are a critical component of diagnosing and staging newly identified lung cancer.
THORACIC SURGERY – Our specialty pulmonary surgeons offer the most up to date in surgical techniques for removal of lung cancers. These surgical approaches include minimally invasive lobectomy, pulmonary stenting and robot-assisted resection.
RADIATION THERAPY – The Radiation Oncology Center at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health offers the latest in radiation techniques, including SBRT (stereotactic body radiation therapy). In addition, the fusion of PET and CT imaging with radiation planning allows precise targeting of tumors.
MEDICAL ONCOLOGY – Specialists in chemotherapy and molecular therapy, members of the Department of Hematology and Oncology offer clinical trials and specialized medical therapy personalized to each patient. Genetic analysis of tumors can provide options for molecular therapy in addition to the latest advances in traditional chemotherapy.
