Radiation Oncology
Radiation Oncologists treat cancer by delivering high-energy radiation precisely to shrink tumors or kill cancer cells. Our radiation oncologists are skilled in the most current techniques/technologies to deliver the appropriate doses of radiation to a specifically pinpointed area, while minimizing the exposure to surrounding, healthy cells.
Our sophisticated, precision equipment includes:
- Three state-of- the-art linear accelerators linked to a record and verify computerized system that ensures the accurate and safe delivery of radiation treatments.
- New stereotactic technology provides precise, high-dose treatments (in as few as one to five sessions) in a shorter period of time for select patients with lung, brain, spine and prostate cancers.
- CT simulation technology and treatment planning to precisely map out the tumor target and generate the most sophisticated plan to treat the tumor and limit the dose to surrounding structures.
The American College of Radiology (ACR) and The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) awarded us the ACR-ASTRO seal of accreditation for the highest level of quality and patient safety for radiation therapy.
