Experts from many disciplines design a treatment plan personalized for you.
At the Asplundh Cancer Pavilion, there is a focus on multidisciplinary care all under one roof. Patients can see appropriate staff from all the disciplines (surgery, medical oncology and radiation) in one day to formulate a plan. In nearly every case, we can bring the oncology specialist to you at Asplundh, rather than asking you to travel an inconvenient distance or to multiple locations for care. We provide surgical consultations, chemotherapy infusion, radiation therapy, symptom support and clinical research.
In addition, a team of accomplished physicians in the fields of medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, pathology and radiology, along with clinical researchers, oncology nurses and nurse navigators – may gather to review your case. Together, they determine the optimal treatment for your specific type and stage of cancer. Ask your nurse navigator about this service, commonly referred to as the tumor board
