Diagnostic Imaging
Diagnostic imaging is used by radiologists to examine a patient’s internal organs and structures to determine the existence of a medical condition. These exams utilize a variety of imaging technologies that can use x-rays, magnetic fields, and ultrasound together with computers to produce images from which a diagnosis can be made.
The type of imaging procedure or technology used depends upon a patient’s symptoms and the part of the body being examined.
Diagnostic imaging for women focus on specific female-oriented health issues and can utilize all of the imaging technologies used for general radiology as well as specialized procedures. Breast and bone health are two key areas as well as conditions pertaining to the reproductive system.
Diagnostic Testing
Our advanced equipment provides detailed analysis for evaluation. While some testing, such as blood tests, may be similar for many cancers, each disease is diagnosed through specialized tests. Diagnostic testing is available at convenient Abington – Jefferson Health locations throughout the area. Mammography and other breast testing available at the Mary T. Sachs Breast Center at Abington Health Center – Willow Grove, at Abington – Lansdale Hospital and Abington Health Center – Warminster.
