Stroke Support

If you or someone you care about is recovering from stroke, you may feel alone in trying to understand the immense life changes stroke may cause. The Diamond Stroke Center and Jefferson Health – Abington offer many ways to help.

Jefferson Health Stroke Support Group

Our stroke support group provides a safe space to connect with other stroke survivors and those caring for or living with a person who has experienced a stroke. The group is led by experts from the Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience and provides emotional and practical support. Patients, families and friends are all invited to attend free of charge.

This virtual support group is held the second Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m. Please register online via Zoom or email us to sign up. Submit any questions to

Stroke Program Coordinator

Many questions arise after suffering a stroke or brain injury. Our stroke program coordinator, Colleen Boyle, RN, can help you and your family understand treatment and rehabilitation plans, and navigate the process. She also connects patients with neurology and neurosurgery social workers, case managers and support services. Contact Colleen by email or at 215-481-3631.

Education for Stroke Patients and Families

Available through The Diamond Stroke Center, on Jefferson Abington Hospital's patient network: stroke prevention and education. Contact 215-481-3631.

Community Stroke Education and Stroke Risk Assessments

Stroke lectures in community, by request. To schedule a stroke lecture at your workplace, house of worship or community center, call 215-361-4411.
