Mail is delivered Mondays through Fridays at Abington Hospital. If mail arrives after a patient is discharged, it will be forwarded to the home address, if possible, or returned to sender. U.S. mailboxes are located outside the main lobbies.
Mail, flowers, balloons or other gifts are delivered daily to the Information Desk at Abington – Lansdale Hospital and will be delivered to patient rooms. Outgoing mail may be given to your nurse, left at the nursing station or deposited in the mailbox located outside the main lobby.
A variety of special services for patients and visitors are available to make hospital stay or visit as pleasant and comfortable as possible. These special services include the following:
Automatic Teller Machines (ATM)
Automatic teller machines are available in the Asplundh Atrium (Lenfest Pavilion) and the Shorday Atrium (Widener Building) at Abington Hospital.
An automatic teller machine is available in the lower level, elevator lobby at Abington – Lansdale Hospital.
Pastoral Care Services
Pastoral Care Services are available for patients and family members/friends at both Abington Hospital and at Abington – Lansdale Hospital.
Family Center at Abington – Lansdale Hospital
Volunteers staff the desk in Abington – Lansdale Hospital’s Family Center waiting room from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Family members can obtain the status of surgical patients by calling 215-361-4585 or 215-361-4586.
Gifts for Patients
If visitors have questions about appropriate gifts (such as food or flowers) they should check with their loved one’s nurse, since some patients may be on restricted diets. Mylar balloons are permitted, but latex balloons are not.

The Gift Shop, located in the main lobby, is open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The shop has snacks, coffee, cold drinks, as well as selected gift items, jewelry, greeting cards, balloons (Mylar only), and flowers. The Gift Shop phone number is 215-361-4618.

Vending machines are located in the hallway outside the Pavilion Grille, in the Wunderle Lobby and on many floors throughout the hospital.
At Abington – Lansdale Hospital Cafeteria
Abington – Lansdale Hospital’s cafeteria is on the lower level of the Main Building. Cafeteria hours are:
Breakfast: 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. (weekdays)
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (weekdays)
Dinner: 5 to 7 p.m. (weekdays)
Breakfast: 7 to 10:30 a.m. (weekends)

Vending machines are located on the Main Level and Lower Level near the elevator lobby as well as in the Emergency Department waiting area.
Hairdresser and barber services are available upon request for inpatients. Newspapers are available for purchase in the Alliance Pharmacy, Rainbow Gift Shop and the Fountain Gift Shop.
Abington – Lansdale Hospital
The Inquirer newspaper is delivered daily to patient rooms on the breakfast tray. Newspapers may be purchased at the main entrance to Abington – Lansdale Hospital or the Gift Shop.
A notary service is available at no charge to our patients.

Free wireless access is available throughout Abington Hospital and Abington – Lansdale hospital. The only areas where wifi is not available is where devices might interfere with medical equipment, such as in critical care or radiologic testing areas.
Wifi is also available to the public at Abington Health Centers in Blue Bell, Lower Gwynedd, Montgomeryville, Willow Grove and Warminster.

Protect Your Valuables
Patients are requested to leave valuable possessions such as jewelry, mobile devices, tablets, laptop computers and cash at home since they may become lost in unfamiliar hospital surroundings.
At Abington Hospital, patients may call Security at extension 2828 to deposit items in their safe, or to report lost belongings.
At Abington – Lansdale Hospital, valuable items should be deposited in the safe in the Staffing office located on the first floor next to the hospital lobby. You will be given a written receipt for all items, which must be presented when you withdraw them. Abington – Lansdale Hospital does not accept responsibility for items of value unless they are deposited in the safe. If you lose something, please notify your nurse immediately.
