Dr. Jonathan Sternlieb Assumes Chief Medical Officer Role at Jefferson Lansdale Hospital
Lansdale, PA (March 1, 2022) – Jonathan Sternlieb, MD, FACG, has been appointed chief medical officer of Jefferson Lansdale Hospital and associate chief medical officer of Jefferson Abington Hospital. In this role, Dr. Sternlieb will be responsible for managing matters related to the medical staff, overseeing clinical services and administering the daily clinical operations of Jefferson Lansdale Hospital, with Katie Farrell, chief administrative officer at Jefferson Lansdale Hospital. He will also provide support to the Jefferson Abington Hospital medical staff.
Since 2014, Dr. Sternlieb has been serving as associate chief medical information officer for Jefferson Health, where he is responsible for interfacing with physicians on matters involving clinical informatics, liaising with clinicians and IS&T, and launching the Epic electronic medical record for the Abington and Northeast Divisions of Jefferson Health.

Fellowship trained in Gastroenterology, Dr. Sternlieb will continue to serve as a clinical assistant professor of medicine for the Sidney Kimmel Medical College and to volunteer caring for underserved patients with gastrointestinal diagnoses in Hartnett Health Services at Jefferson Abington Hospital.
A graduate of George Washington University, Dr. Sternlieb earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. He completed his internship and residency at Pennsylvania Hospital. His fellowship training in Gastroenterology took place at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. In 2014, Dr. Sternlieb earned a graduate certificate in Biomedical Informatics from Oregon Health Sciences University.
