Abington - Lansdale Hospital Appoints New Chief Administrative Officer
Lansdale, PA (March 20, 2018) - Kathleen (Katie) Farrell has been appointed chief administrative officer of Abington - Lansdale Hospital. Prior to this appointment, she served as the hospital's chief operating officer for ten years and has worked in health care for more than 35 years.
In her new role, Farrell is the top-tier executive onsite with responsibility for day-to-day operations, as well as for developing and implementing the hospital's strategic plan. She will oversee all local administrative and clinical functions.
"Katie's extensive experience in healthcare administration and strong leadership skills make her a valuable asset to Abington - Lansdale Hospital," says Meg McGoldrick, president, Abington - Jefferson Health. "She is process-oriented with specific skills in business planning, resource management and development of a service culture. Katie's ability to establish and maintain positive relationships in a dynamic field is very important. Her focus includes managing relationships within the community and with our patients and employees."
Prior to assuming leadership at Abington - Lansdale Hospital, Farrell held leadership roles at Warminster Hospital and Allegheny University Hospitals.
Farrell serves as a board member of Greater Harleysville and North Penn Senior Services. She is also a member of the Warminster Rotary Club, where she will serve her second term as president of the club starting this summer.
Farrell earned her B.S. in Business Administration from Delaware Valley University. She completed her M.B.A. with a health care focus at LaSalle University.
Farrell has been married for 33 years to her husband, Joey, who is a graphic artist. They reside in Buckingham, PA.
