Chief Nursing Officer
Nancy Hesse, R.N., M.S.N.
Lansdale, PA (May 11, 2009) – Nancy Hesse, RN has accepted the role of Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Lansdale Hospital effective June 1. The announcement was made by Gary Candia, Ph.D., chief executive officer at Lansdale. "We are pleased to have Nancy on the senior leadership team at Lansdale Hospital. She brings a wealth of nursing experience and will complement our team," Candia noted.
In this role, Hesse will have responsibility for the overall management of clinical nursing practice, education and leadership. Additionally, she will ensure the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and services that are evidence-based and consistent with professional standards and practice.
Hesse has over 29 years of Nursing Leadership experience, most recently managing the Emergency Trauma Center at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington. She has been instrumental in increasing patient satisfaction and has maintained patient satisfaction scores in excess of 99% at the second busiest Emergency Trauma Center in the Philadelphia region. She has been active in presenting at national leadership conferences, including the Emergency Nurses Association in 2008 and 2009. In 2003, Hesse received Abington Memorial Hospital's Williamson Award, which recognizes employees for distinguished service, dedication and commitment to their hospital's patients and staff. Nursing Spectrum recognized Hesse as finalist in their 2005 Nursing Excellence Award. Hesse's prior health care experience includes critical care, pediatrics and medical/surgical nursing.
Hesse received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Widener University and her Masters in Nursing Leadership from University of Pennsylvania with a minor in Organizational Dynamics. She enjoys golfing, gardening and sailing and is active in her church. She resides in Glenside.
