Teaching Affiliation

Jefferson Abington Hospital holds affiliations with the following institutions:

-          Thomas Jefferson University – Sidney Kimmel Medical College

-          Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine

-          Temple University – Lewis Katz School of Medicine

Residents have the opportunity to complete elective rotations at these sites amongst others, obtain mentorship, and pursue research opportunities. These clinical affiliations also provide our residents a chance to showcase their clinical abilities helping them pursue fellowship opportunities.

Medical students from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine complete 3rd year and 4th year clinical rotations at Jefferson Abington Hospital. Medical students overall enjoy their time learning in our environment. This continued commitment from medical schools to Jefferson Abington Hospital demonstrates the important and valuable role that our residents play in the education of the next generation of physicians. In t urn, having medical students improves the resident experience by enhancing the team approach to medicine, and promoting an atmosphere of inquiry on medical services.
