With strong teaching in daily morning report, noon-time conferences, weekly general medicine and subspecialty grand rounds as well as the broad clinical exposure obtained on rotations, our residents do exceptionally well on the ABIM board examination. Education is the core of our program as evidenced by our activities:

Residents in the classroom

  • Morning Report:
    • Occurs for all residents and students four times a week.
    • Each month with different sub-specialty focus blended with general medicine
    • Attended by two or more faculty, including sub-specialists
    • Daily discussion of internal medicine board review question
    • Monthly radiology EKG focused session
  • Noon ConferenceResident Group
    • Occurs four times a week for all residents and students
    • Subspecialty topics blended with resident management conferences
  • Grand Rounds (Medical)
    • Weekly
  • Lectures in research, biostatistics, ethics, and behavioral medicine
    • Monthly
  • Journal Club
    • Monthly
  • Morbidity and Mortality Conference
    • Monthly
  • Oncology case conference by the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Abington – Jefferson Health faculty
