Abington Family Medicine is located in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, a neighborhood of Montgomery County. Our residents and faculty primarily live in neighborhoods of Montgomery County and Philadelphia. Jenkintown is about four miles from the Philadelphia border and eleven miles from Center City.
Jenkintown is a unique, walkable suburb that has several restaurants and shops. Some of our favorite spots include Fil-A-Bagel, White Horse Coffee & Creamery, and West Avenue Grill. Montgomery County is largely residential and known to be a great area to raise a family. There are many parks, trails, and historic sites to see in the area.
Center City Philadelphia is easily accessible by the Jenkintown-Wyncote Train Station or about a 40-minute car ride. See Independence Hall, take in the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Kimmel Center or a concert at the Mann Music Center in Fairmount Park, walk through the giant heart at the Franklin Institute, or run up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Philadelphia is infamous for its passionate sports fans supporting the 76ers basketball, Eagles football, Flyers ice hockey, Phillies baseball, and Union soccer teams. Philadelphia also has a vibrant dining scene with excellent restaurants, romantic BYOB's, and a bustling Chinatown. For a weekend getaway, the Pocono Mountains, New Jersey beaches, and New York City are all less than two hours away.
