Volunteering at Jefferson Abington Hospital

Volunteers are a significant part of the healthcare team. More than 1,100 volunteers help in various roles at the hospital’s main and adjunct campuses, in physician practice offices, and throughout the community.

We appreciate your interest in helping others and will try to find an assignment that meets your needs and supports the staff and patients of Jefferson Health – Abington. There are many opportunities for you to serve during the day and select opportunities in the evenings and on weekends. We generally ask for a minimum commitment of one four-hour shift per week.

Please note that all potential volunteers are required to prove immunity to mumps, measles, rubella and chicken pox; have hepatitis B and Tdap vaccinations; and also have a recent PPD test (within three months prior to start date). In addition, annual flu shots are required (flu shots are provided free of charge at Jefferson Health – Abington).
