Wearable Heart Monitors
When heart rhythm problems occur on and off, special wearable heart monitors help document rhythm disorders or periods of dizziness or lightheadedness.
Wearable heart monitors are among the services available at the Heart Rhythm Center of Abington Health’s Heart & Vascular Institute.
Heart Monitoring at Home
Cardiac event and 24-hour Holter monitors use EKG (electrocardiogram) technology and implantable loop recorders.
You wear the monitor at home, pushing a button to record times you experience symptoms. The wearable monitor helps evaluate if symptoms are due to arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat.
Blood pressure evaluation during daily activities, instead of while seated in a doctor’s office, is also available. This allows pressure readings to be monitored and recorded at home over a 24-hour period.
