Heart Emergency & Trauma

In emergencies such as heart attack, a few minutes can make a big difference. Abington – Jefferson Health patients benefit from rapid, exceptional emergency care and cardiovascular expertise at both of our hospitals: Abington Hospital – Jefferson Health and Abington – Lansdale Hospital.

Our heart team is available 24/7 to perform the latest emergency treatments.

Finest Emergency Locations

With a rooftop helipad and the only state-designated regional trauma center in Montgomery County, Abington helps more than 106,000 patients annually. The AH Emergency Trauma Center and cardiac-related services are designed in a cluster, for rapid treatment.

Lansdale’s Emergency Department provides quick response and early intervention for heart attack and other cardiac problems.

Abington – Jefferson Health heart and vascular experts serve both hospitals. Before patient arrival, our team receives information from EKG transmissions sent by emergency crews. This enables us to work quickly once a patient is at the hospital.

Emergency Heart Treatments

Our specialists perform many heart emergency therapies. These include: angioplasty with stents to open blocked arteries and support artery walls; laser and rotoblator techniques, to grind down fatty deposits or break up blood clots; and hypothermic cardiac arrest therapy, which lowers body temperature to protect the brain and improve neurological function after a heart attack.
