Children, Teens and Families

These groups are for children, teens and families who have experienced a significant death. Children ages 4 to 18 are assigned to age appropriate groups which meet in our welcoming, supportive environment every other week for 1 1/2 hours. Participants come together to share in their grief experiences, participate in activities, play games, and benefit from our creative arts specialists. Accompanying parents/ caregivers can attend a parent/ care giver support group.

Young Adults

This group meets the needs of young adults who have graduated from High School, ages 19 to 30, who are grieving the death of a loved one. Our Young Adult Group meets twice a month for 1 ½ hours.

Moving On Group

This support group is for former Safe Harbor Parent Support Group participants who are facing issues that follow acute grief: family and social relationships, employment issues and life as a single person.

Getting  Started…

Parents, caregivers and young adults can contact Safe Harbor directly at 215-481-5983 for more information regarding joining a support group. An orientation appointment will be scheduled at which time parents/ caregivers and their children will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with Safe Harbor and get a sense of what happens during a typical group in order to determine if they want to move forward and participate in the program.
