Lung Cancer Treatments

We have expertise with the latest lung cancer treatments. Our specialists are highly experienced in lung cancer care, from pulmonology to lung cancer surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology and interventional radiology.

Patients also benefit from access to new lung cancer treatment developments through clinical trials.

Therapies for Lung Cancer

Our physicians individualize treatment for each patient. Patients may undergo surgery to remove an affected section of the lung. Some lymph nodes also may be removed.

Radiation therapy can stop cancer growth. Our radiation oncologists use the most advanced technology, including stereotactic body radiotherapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) to target the cancer, deliver high-powered radiation and avoid healthy areas.

Radiofrequency ablation, an interventional radiology (IR) procedure, is a minimally invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency energy heat to destroy tumors. Chemotherapy may be administered before or after surgery or radiation, or on its own. Some patients may receive targeted therapy.

Fertility Preservation

Before starting any cancer treatment, talk with your oncologist about whether the therapy could affect your fertility. Our reproductive endocrinologists help with fertility preservation before cancer treatment or appropriate infertility treatment if cancer therapy has already been given.
