Abington Hospital is partnering with Knitted Knockers, a non-profit organization which provides free hand knitted breast prostheses for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures affecting the shape of the breast. These prostheses are soft and comfortable and can be placed in a regular bra. They can be adjusted to fill the gap for breasts that are uneven and are adapted for those going through reconstruction by removing some of the stuffing. Cancer Rehabilitation Services
Physical therapy can improve flexibility and strength after surgery. Lymphedema program treats swelling related to lymph node damage or removal. Specially trained therapists offer manual lymph drainage and extremity bandaging. Cancer-related fatigue program with physical therapists and exercise physiologists helps restore energy, regain daily activities. Call 215-481-2160.
