Program Description 

This program is intended as an update on a wide array of neurovascular topics. The faculty will present concise, evidence-based lectures with time to address questions.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this session, the participant shall be able to:

  1. Review imaging and clinical protocols for neurological emergencies.
  2. Identify treatment paradigms for patent foramen ovale.
  3. Describe legal considerations in treatment of acute stroke.
  4. Review advances in management and treatment of cerebrovascular malformations.
  5. Summarize the innovations in neurorehabilitation.

Target Audience

This program, presented by Abington - Jefferson Health, is intended for emergency physicians, neurologists, neurosurgeons, critical care physicians, hospitalists, neuroradiologists, neurointerventionalists, primary care physicians and allied health professionals. This conference may also be of interest to emergency medical personnel, nurses, radiologic technologists and physical occupational therapists.

This activity complies with the definition of patient safety/risk management continuing medical education required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine for license renewal. The learner may designate up to 7.5 patient safety/risk management continuing medical education credits.

CEU Credits

Abington Health is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by PA State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This continuing nursing education activity was approved by Abington Hospital for maximum of 7.5 Continuing Education Units.

ASRT Credits

Continuing Education Units have been applied for with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).

PT/OT Credits

This course meets the criteria for 7.5 contact hours ((7.5 CEUs). Applications have been made to the Pennsylvania State Board of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy.
