Emergency Stroke Response

Call "911"
right now...

if you or someone else is having stroke symptoms. Quick help is vital!

We treat stroke like the emergency it is. Our stroke team stands ready 24/7 to respond with the latest stroke treatments for patients coming to the Emergency Trauma Center at Abington Memorial Hospital, the only state-designated regional trauma center in Montgomery County.

Diamond Stroke Center experts also provide stroke expertise via telemedicine to other hospitals in the region.

Excellence in Stroke Emergency Care

The interventional neurologists and other stroke specialists on our team are prepared to respond quickly whenever a stroke occurs. We scored 100 percent in meeting American Stroke Association guidelines for rapid treatment of ischemic stroke, compared to the national hospital average of 76.3 percent.

To help patients get treatment faster, our specialists provide stroke education and technology support to area emergency medical services (EMS) squads. We help EMS personnel learn to use stroke diagnostic scales to evaluate patients and notify us while still en route.

This partnership and coordination enables our emergency stroke response team to treat strokes quickly when patients arrive at the hospital.
