Meet the Surgeons

Fernando B. Bonanni, Jr., M.D.

Director, Institute for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery
Abington Memorial Hospital

Fernando B. Bonanni, Jr., M.D., initiated the bariatric surgery program at Abington Memorial Hospital and has been director of bariatric surgery since its inception in 2006. Today, he has established the Institute for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of obesity.

Gintaras Antanavicius, M.D.

Gintaras Antanavicius, M.D., received his Medical Doctrine from Vilnus University Medical School, in his home country of Lithuania. Dr. Antanavicius, who speaks English, Lithuanian and Russian, came to the U.S. for his postgraduate studies and has recently joined Abington Memorial Hospital's Institute for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Kristin M. Noonan, M.D.

Kristin M. Noonan, M.D., is a board-certified surgeon with a concentration in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery, and is fellowship trained in both. She has held academic appointments as an instructor of surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the University of Pennsylvania, and was a research fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
