Pastoral Care Services

The services of the Pastoral Department are available to patients and family members at both Abington Hospital and Abington – Lansdale Hospital. Our chaplains provide compassionate support and service to those with spiritual and emotional needs and concerns while in the hospital. Their ministry is interfaith, compassionate and respectful, honoring each person’s spiritual journey.

Abington Hospital

A chaplain is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to emergencies, crises and urgent spiritual care needs. To speak with a chaplain or to leave a message for the chaplain, please call 215-481-2700.

Abington – Lansdale Hospital

A chaplain is on-call 24 hours a day to minister to persons of all faiths.  At the request of a patient or family member, the chaplain can also contact the patient’s priest, pastor, rabbi, or faith community leader for them. Please contact the Abington – Lansdale chaplain by calling 215-361-4417.

Chapels

Abington Hospital

The Harbison Chapel is located on the ground floor between the Buerger and Widener buildings at the intersection of Main Street and Avenue D.

A small prayer and meditation chapel, The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Chapel, is located on the third floor between the Buerger and Elkins Buildings, adjacent to the Rorer Building elevators.

Abington – Lansdale Hospital

The hospital chapel is located on the first floor next to the main lobby.
