Lansdale Hospital Welcomes New General Surgeons

(Lansdale, PA) August 27, 2009 – Lansdale Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of two general surgeons to its medical staff. Levente Szalai, MD and Masoud Rezvani, MD have joined together in a new practice, Surgical Associates of Lansdale. "The addition of Drs. Szalai and Rezvani nicely complements the existing services at Lansdale Hospital, expanding surgical expertise available to our community," commented Joseph Kraynak, Chief Medical Officer, Lansdale Hospital.
Levente Szalai, MD is a general surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive/laparoscopic surgery, including laparoscopic inguinal/ventral/umbilical hernia repairs, laparoscopic appendectomies, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, laparoscopic colostomies and laparoscopic small bowel resections amongst others. He completed his medical studies at Semmelweis University School of Medicine in Budapest, Hungary and the Medical University of Szeged in Szeged, Hungary. In 2005, Dr. Szalai completed his surgical training at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, including his general surgery residency training and subsequent fellowship training in surgical critical care and trauma. In addition, Dr. Szalai received specialized training in advanced wound care in 2008 and will be joining the Wound Care Center at Lansdale Hospital. He is board certified and is a member of the American College of Surgeons.
Masoud Rezvani, MD also specializes in minimally invasive/laparoscopic surgery. He received his medical degree at Azad University, Tehran, Iran and recently completed his five year surgical residency at Abington Memorial Hospital where he served as chief resident. He has special interest and experience in advanced and complex laparoscopic cases, such as those involving the colon and small bowel. He also has significant experience in oncologic surgery, including breast, thyroid and parathyroid.
