Clinical Conferences – Wednesday lunchtime lectures with Geriatric Division, didactics core curriculum system issues, SWAT rounds (multidisciplinary wound rounds)
Journal Club – Articles are presented weekly or Geriatric Board questions are reviewed.
On Call – Twice weekly and every third weekend. All calls are covered by telephone from home.

Noon Conference

A noontime lunch conference is held daily for the internal medicine residents every day except Wednesday. Throughout the year, the following topics will be led by the geriatric team with assistance of the fellows.

Pearls of Geriatrics – Aging and Frailty
Wound Care
Osteoporosis
Urinary Retention and Incontinence
Dementia
Depression in the Elderly

Off-Site Conferences

Fellows are encouraged and reimbursed for attending two major national geriatric conferences: The Annual Meeting of the American Geriatric Society and The American Medical Directors Association.

In previous years, AMH Geriatric Fellows have presented a research abstract at these conferences. Fellows are also encouraged and reimbursed to attend local chapter meetings of these organizations, as well as other conferences of special interest.
