Geriatric Medicine Fellowship

Abington Memorial Hospital has a long and rich tradition of postgraduate training in internal medicine. We excel in our ability to provide a comprehensive, rigorous training experience while also maintaining a personal concern for each resident and their professional interests.

The hospital's Geriatric Medicine fellowship is the only such program in Chester, Montgomery and Bucks counties accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Graduating Abington Memorial Hospital geriatric medicine fellows have earned 100% board pass rate.

All fellows work with the hospital's Muller Institute for Senior Health, which provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient geriatric services for elder patients. Skilled staff and an outstanding program make Abington Memorial Hospital an ideal place for physicians to receive advanced training in caring for elderly patients.

The Muller Institute brings together the hospital's outstanding inpatient, outpatient, community outreach and long-term care services for our senior patients. In addition, academic teaching and research activities are linked with the center and new services and educational opportunities for physicians and other healthcare professionals are offered. The center was named in honor of the late C. John Muller, who, at age 92, made a generous gift to enhance the hospital's geriatric services. This endowment is used in part to supplement and enhance geriatric fellow education, including conference attendance and research start up grant monies.
